ISO 22483:2020 – The new standard to support Tourism and Hospitality Services

The purpose of the ISO 22483:2020 standard is to provide a common reference model for hosting facilities and to ensure a quality service to customers by defining appropriate requirements and guidelines.
This international standard defines the requirements of management systems dedicated to Tourism and hotel services (hotels, tourist networks, hostels).
Our “e-Cert” organization emphasizes the importance of this standard, which provides a suitable framework for managers who must ensure the quality service that, regardless of class or category, the customer expects from a structure operating in this sector.
In the current market, the entities involved face numerous challenges: to stand out from the competition, to understand the needs of the public and gain their trust, to ensure optimal performance of the services offered, because consumers always demand great transparency from those structures tourism and hospitality.
ISO 22483 focuses on the evaluation of all services provided by the structures of the sector: • information and communication;
• reservation;
• registration and departure (checkin and checkout);
• baggage management;
• accommodation (rooms, furniture, equipment); • food (meal service, kitchen, room service);
• additional services (customer service, spa, swimming pools, gyms, parking, etc.).
Being certified with this standard for the businesses of this developing sector in Albania represents an opportunity for improvement, a way to evaluate the quality of services provided and ensure customer satisfaction, as well as an opportunity to identify potential issues that over time can become a competitive advantage.
For the certified company, this means opening up to a number of other possibilities: • having an organizational model of its own reference;
• optimize resources;
• reduce the risk of administrative sanctions;
• promote valuable and impactful operations;
• increase its reputation.
The certification aims to give credibility to the host structures, a credibility guaranteed through the assessment of the management system by competent Third Parties that provide an authoritative, impartial and independent assessment in accordance with the standard.
Certification, according to the ISO definition, is a written guarantee from an independent body (in this case, our shameless “e-Cert”) that a product, service or system meets specific requirements.
By gaining the ISO 22483 certification from “e-Cert”, your hotel shows its commitment to provide high quality services and to meet the international standards of the tourism and hotel sector.
