{"id":2263,"date":"2026-09-17T12:42:06","date_gmt":"2026-09-17T10:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/e-cert.al\/?p=2263"},"modified":"2026-09-17T12:42:06","modified_gmt":"2026-09-17T10:42:06","slug":"iso-90012026-has-launched-a-new-chapter-in-quality-management","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/e-cert.al\/en\/2026\/09\/17\/iso-90012026-has-launched-a-new-chapter-in-quality-management\/","title":{"rendered":"ISO 9001:2026 has launched: A new chapter in quality management"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are pleased to announce the publication of <strong>ISO 9001:2026<\/strong>, the latest edition of the internationally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS).<\/p>\n<p>Building on the foundation established by ISO 9001:2015, the new edition reflects the changing business environment and the growing need for organizations to manage quality in a more structured, adaptable and forward-looking way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s new in ISO 9001:2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The revised standard maintains the core principles of quality management while introducing important updates and clarifications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Greater emphasis on quality culture and ethical behaviour<\/strong><br \/>\nReinforcing the role of leadership and organizational culture in achieving quality objectives.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Clearer approach to risks and opportunities<\/strong><br \/>\nStrengthening how organizations identify and address factors that may affect the intended results of the QMS.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Enhanced focus on change management<\/strong><br \/>\nHelping organizations better plan and manage changes that can influence the effectiveness of their Quality Management System.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Climate change considerations<\/strong><br \/>\nClimate change is now explicitly reflected within the standard, building on the ISO climate action amendments introduced in 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Improved alignment with other ISO management system standards<\/strong><br \/>\nThe revised structure supports greater consistency and easier integration with other management systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>What does this mean for organizations?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For organizations already certified to <strong>ISO 9001:2015<\/strong>, the new edition represents an opportunity to review and further strengthen their existing Quality Management Systems.<\/p>\n<p>The revision does not replace the fundamental principles of ISO 9001. Instead, it provides greater clarity and updates the framework to reflect how organizations operate in today&#8217;s increasingly dynamic environment.<\/p>\n<p>Organizations should begin reviewing the changes, assessing their current systems and planning the necessary steps for transition to ISO 9001:2026.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Transition to ISO 9001:2026<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Organizations certified against ISO 9001:2015 will have a transition period to move to the new edition.
